SUMMARY:Sex Talk Cacao Series - Pillow Talk: Communication Before\, During\, and After Sex
DESCRIPTION:In our summer cacao ceremony series\, we invite you to talk about sex! Within our sacred container\, expressing our desires\, fears\, and boundaries\, we’ll take this vulnerable leap together! \n\n\n\n\nTalks in the series include: \n\n\n\n\n6/18 – Peak Sexual Experiences\n7/2 – Pillow Talk: Communication Before\, During\, and After Sex\n7/16 – Sexual Inhibitions\n7/30 – Creating a Sacred Sex Life \n\n\n\nCost: Recommended $25 (pay what you can) \n\n\n\n\nYes\, this is open to singles and couples (or however you define yourselves) \n\n\n\nSex Talk\n\n\n\n\nFacilitated by Christine Renee and Jim Macdonald \n\n\n\n\nFinding supportive spaces for vulnerable conversations can be challenging\, but they are so necessary! The more vulnerable the topic\, the more necessary. We have seen “death cafes” and “grief support groups” flourish for people grappling with those big topics. However\, when it comes to sex\, the topic is so fraught with taboo\, shame\, trauma\, and mistrust\, it can be surprisingly difficult for people to talk about it in healthy and supportive ways. How many times have we heard someone admit to us that they can’t even speak to their partner about sex? \n\n\n\n\nJim has offered versions of “Sex Talk” in the past\, and they have been very popular for gathering community members to just talk. People attending workshops have wanted more\, and now Jim and Christine present a four-workshop Sex Talk Series\, with a special flavor – cacao! \n\n\n\n\nCacao is an amazing sacred medicinal plant that people have been using more and more to help open their hearts. We offer it here as part of a spiritual practice to help invite us into the holy act of sharing our hearts in witness of each other. Each “Sex Talk\,” therefore\, is also a cacao ceremony. \n\n\n\n\nOur talks are every other Wednesday starting June 18\, and are focused on the the following topics: \n\n\n\n\n6/18 – Peak Sexual Experiences: Describe to each other the best sexual experience in your lives and what made it the best for you\n7/2 – Pillow Talk: Communication Before\, During\, and After Sex:  What are the kinds of things that are important to communicate? How can we improve communication? What keeps us from communicating?\n7/16 – Sexual Inhibitions: What obstacles keep us from having the sex we desire? Are they specific fears? Are they societal norms? Is it something to do with our self-image or perhaps the image of a partner?\n7/30 – Creating a Sacred Sex Life: Some might consider “sacred sex” to be an oxymoron\, but we strongly disagree; what practices have we introduced into our sexual relationship with ourselves and others for the sacred to emerge from our sexuality? \n\n\n\n\nWide open hearts are beautiful but also risky. We are here to take care of each other. All our practices are framed within a sacred space container. More than a container\, this is a communication practice where we see and hear each other\, particularly our desires\, fears\, and boundaries. That is\, we are creating a space where we hope to minimize triggers\, understand the needs of the participants in the room\, and create a safer container where we can share. No one is coaxed\, prodded\, or led into anything they do not want to be doing or sharing. We take seriously the idea that your boundaries are sacred\, and we will provide several means for you to be able to assert them as you wish. \n\n\n\n\nThe suggested price for this workshop is $25\, but all of these workshops are pay what you can (even if what you can is $0). \n\n\n\n\nSpace for all these workshops is limited; so please RSVP to guarantee your spot. \n\n\n\n\nChristine Renee is a shamanic reiki practitioner and spiritual coach. She offers a wide array of courses and services through her Moon Rising Shamanic Institute. \n\n\n\n\nJim Macdonald is a licensed Chakradance facilitator and SkyDancing Tantra teacher in training\, having also offered many intimacy-related workshops. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nSex Talk Cacao Ceremony Series\nWednesday June 18\, July 2\, 16\, and 30\, 2100 Fairway Drive\, #102 – 7-9 PM – Facilitated by Christine Renee and Jim Macdonald\n \n \n\n Name* \n\nFirst NameLast Name\n \n\n Email* \n example@example.com \n\n Phone Number* \n Your phone number will only be used to text you about the event you have registered for. \n\n Which of the Sex Talks are you RSVPing for (choose all that apply) \n\nJune 18 – Peak Sexual ExperiencesJuly 2 – Pillow Talk: Communication Before\, During\, and After SexJuly 16 – Sexual InhibitionsJuly 30 – Creating a Sacred Sex Life\n \n\n How many other people are you registering?
